🍂 Autumn Adventures Await: Join Us for Fall Bookshop Events!
Hey everyone! Adrian here, and what a great month October was!
I got to Grand Marshal the Jackson Heights Halloween Parade that I have been to since I was a kid! Another bucket list item that wasn’t on the list checked off!!
The Queens Monopoly Game was officially announced and released—we should have them in stock at the bookshop by the second week of November, just in time for the holiday season! WBB is on the board, along with other QNS small businesses.
We are also starting Children Storytime and crafts every weekend at 11am. They will mostly happen on Sundays, but we might hold it on the occasional Saturday, so make sure to check the calendar!

This is the start of our Children Storytime series, where I (Adrian) or a special guest will be at the bookshop at 11 AM on the weekends reading books!
Free Playwriting Workshop with Playwrights Horizons

So excited to welcome Arturo Luíz Soria and Playwrights Horizons back to WBB for another free playwriting workshop!
Arturo will draw from his expertise as a performer to guide participants through exercises to explore storytelling and craft character-driven pieces. Everyone is encouraged to write in their mother tongues or the language they feel most comfortable in. Plus, free dinner!

Children Story Time with Lian Cho

We’re welcoming author/illustrator Lian Cho to the store! She will be reading her recently released book, Pig Town Party!
About the book: A young girl gets a mysterious invite and ends up in a secret world of pigs, filled with epic parties, chase scenes, and a cake heist!

Our first offsite event with our friends over at The Queensboro!
Join us for a discussion about this book with Raj Tawney and learn about his new middle grade novel releasing later this month! (You can preorder All Mixed Up at the event!)
About Colorful Palate: A coming-of-age memoir about Raj’s upbringing in an Indian, Puerto Rican, and Italian-American family and his struggles with identity. Raj also shares the stories he heard and recipes he made with loved ones in the kitchen.

So excited to welcome another Queens author (and former Queens Borough Poet Laureate) Paulo Javier and launch his new poetry book at the bookshop!
About the book: A two poem book with one about desire and separation from place, language and another long poem that tackles this particular moment in American history.
