Once again there has been a disturbing rise in ICE presence in our neighborhood and beyond. I want to be clear:
ICE is never welcome in the bookshop.
We are a private business and a safe space. If you or someone you know sees something, or if anything is happening and you want help amplifying it, please don’t hesitate to DM or email me. I’ll do my best to respond and raise awareness—both online and at the shop.
If you or someone you know needs a place to wait, breathe, or simply feel safe, please come in.
We also have red “Know Your Rights” cards and stickers available at the shop for free of course —thanks to the incredible organizers at Barrio Drive. These can be taken, shared, and posted anywhere they’re needed.
This bookshop exists because of community—and we will always show up for ours.
Just a quick reminder that tonight we're welcoming the incredible Chyana Marie Sage, author of Soft as Bones, to the shop.
She’ll be in conversation with another amazing Native writer Kinsale Drake.
Soft as Bones is an incredible debut memoir from Chyana Marie Sage — not only one of the most lyrical memoirs you’ll ever read, but also a powerful window into Native lore, seamlessly woven through Chyana’s personal memories.
